Wellstar Pharmacy Sets the Standard for Patient Care with Parcel Health’s Tully Tube

As we step into 2026, we are excited to highlight Wellstar Pharmacy’s groundbreaking 4-month pilot test of our Tully Tube, the world’s first and only paper pill bottle. This pilot showcases the powerful impact sustainable packaging can have on patient care, the environment, and overall healthcare innovation. Wellstar Pharmacy’s initiative to adopt this sustainable packaging model is a pivotal moment, not only for the pharmacy sector but also for the broader healthcare industry.

Revolutionizing Prescription Packaging Through Paper

Wellstar Pharmacy, in collaboration with Parcel Health, conducted a comprehensive pilot to test the efficacy of our Tully Tubes. This eco-conscious, paper-based packaging alternative was put to the test against traditional plastic vials in several key areas, including patient experience, safety, durability, and environmental impact. The results were overwhelmingly positive, with our Tully Tube outperforming plastic in 9 out of 10 attributes.

Tully Tube outperformed plastic in 9 out of 10 attributes, based on a four-month pilot test conducted by Wellstar Kennestone Pharmacy from 11 August to 11 December 2025.

Patient Satisfaction with Paper Packaging

Wellstar Pharmacy’s commitment to sustainability is mirrored in the feedback from patients. 71% of respondents indicated a clear preference for the paper-based packaging, while 79% supported the switch due to its environmental benefits. Patients felt that sustainable packaging showed Wellstar cares more about their health and the planet, aligning with growing patient demand for eco-friendly solutions.

Addressing Usability Friction

While Tully Tube brought strong results in several areas, usability friction was identified as a minor hurdle, particularly regarding the ease of opening and closing the packaging. Clinicians, who interact with the packaging most frequently, highlighted concerns about the stiffness of the lids. Wellstar Pharmacy’s commitment to feedback and continuous improvement ensures that this friction point will be addressed as the initiative scales.

Environmental Impact in Healthcare Packaging

The key takeaway from this pilot is the environmental impact of switching to paper-based packaging. 80% of respondents rated our Tully Tube as a more sustainable option than plastic, confirming the industry's shift towards eco-friendly packaging. By using Tully Tubes, Wellstar Pharmacy is helping pave the way for a more sustainable healthcare future, with reduced reliance on plastic waste.

Wellstar Pharmacy’s Commitment to Sustainable Healthcare

Wellstar Pharmacy’s successful pilot of Parcel Health’s Tully Tube has set a new precedent for patient care and sustainability in healthcare. By adopting this innovative packaging solution, Wellstar demonstrates how pharmacies can play a key role in reducing environmental impact without compromising patient satisfaction. As Wellstar continues to refine this packaging model, the pharmacy’s efforts signal a powerful shift toward sustainable practices in the healthcare industry.

A Brighter Future for Pharma

We are proud to highlight Wellstar Pharmacy’s pioneering work in the healthcare industry. Through their pilot test of our Tully Tube, Wellstar has shown that sustainable packaging can deliver substantial benefits to both patients and the environment. Wellstar’s dedication to improving patient care and embracing sustainability sets a powerful example for the rest of the industry.
