Peeking Behind the Scenes of Our April Fool’s prank
Let's be honest. After years of being the first to push paper-based pharmaceutical packaging into the mainstream (and all of the hard work that comes with that)we were overdue for a little fun.. And what better day for that than April 1st?
So we announced to the world, with a completely straight face, that Parcel Health was done with pharmaceutical packaging and making a move into a much less innovative category. We were pivoting to socks, which we could conveniently still call “Tully Tubes.”

The idea started with a message from Melinda just two days before April Fools’, and from there, things moved quickly. Ideas began pouring in, each one more unexpected than the last, including making paper-based syringes, paper injection pens, sunglasses, phone stands, and even the idea of buying a plastic shredder and DIY-ing it. The theme quickly became clear: what was the most surprising thing we could do? We could abandon our commitment to innovation and go back to (literal) basics.

Once the concept was decided, the team fully committed to it. Our CXO Lauren even suggested going all out by completely transforming the website for the day so that everything reflected this “new direction,” which we actually brought to life. (just the in posts, we didn’t change the actual website!). One specific request took the idea even further by adding the Tully Tube design right on the toe of the socks. It was a detail that instantly made the concept more fun, and once Nick brought it into the design, we knew there was no way anyone was going to say no to it.

Within just a few hours, the team had pulled everything together. Designs were created, messaging was aligned, and the concept came to life faster than anyone expected.
What began as a joke quickly turned into something tangible. We decided to produce a limited run and share them with customers who had supported us, especially those purchasing our actual Tully Tubes. Before long, the socks were live on the website and the news featured across our social media channels. The reactions came in almost immediately. People were genuinely engaged, and the level of excitement caught us off guard.
To be clear, we are not pivoting to socks. Parcel Health remains fully committed to leading innovation in paper-based pharmaceutical packaging. That is our focus and the work we are proud of. At the same time, we believe there is value in not taking ourselves too seriously all the time because a little humour can go a long way, even in an industry that tends to be highly structured. We joked about stepping away from innovation, but within days we had turned that very idea into a real product. That might be the most fitting outcome of all.
Here’s to paper, here’s to packaging, and here’s to keeping things just a little unexpected!
We will go ahead and say it. This might be our best April Fool’s yet, at least for now but there is always next year, and we are already thinking about what 2027’s April fools might bring.
If you want a pair, they are available now on the website while stick last.
