August Partner Of The Month: MaineGeneral
MaineGeneral is adopting the Tully Tube as a sustainable alternative to the amber plastic pill bottles, billions of which enter landfills every year. Patients now receive their prescriptions in the Tully Tube, which uses up to 71% less plastic than a conventional bottle and can reduce a pharmacy’s carbon emissions by nearly one-third.

Supporting Patients Across Central Maine
MaineGeneral Health is a comprehensive nonprofit health system serving patients, families and communities across the greater Kennebec Valley. As one of Maine’s largest health systems, it employs approximately 1,600 nurses. Its Thayer Center for Health in Waterville is also Maine’s largest and most comprehensive outpatient centre.
Its services support people from primary, emergency and hospital care to cancer treatment, rehabilitation, home health and hospice services. Under one health system, MaineGeneral provides care through from acute hospital treatment to long-term and at-home support and a broad network of specialized facilities and practices.
Through this wide range of services, MaineGeneral is able to support patients across every stage of care.
MaineGeneral’s Mission
MaineGeneral’s mission is to enhance, every day, the health of its patients, families and communities. That commitment to quality has earned national recognition.
They have received seven 2026 Women’s Choice Awards, including recognition as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience. It was also recognized for its work in cancer care, obstetrics, orthopaedics, stroke care, mammogram imaging and minimally invasive surgery.
MaineGeneral’s commitment to people also extends to its own team. Through its Excellence at Work awards program, MaineGeneral publicly recognizes employees for the difference they make in the workplace and their communities. The health system also celebrates the contributions of more than 1,600 nurses during Nurses Week, reflecting a culture that values the people who deliver care every day.
This people-first approach is one of the reasons to recognize MaineGeneral as our Partner of the Month in August. It reflects a health system that values both the patients it serves and the people behind their care.
Scaling the Partnership
Thank you to the MaineGeneral team for adopting paper instead of plastic. We are proud to support this transition to the Tully Tube and grow our partnership to help patients receive their medications in packaging designed with both patients and the environment in mind.
We look forward to continuing this partnership and supporting MaineGeneral’s mission to enhance the health of its patients, families and communities.
